Oregano in Organic Cooking

It is a good decision to grow your own oregano because it has its own medicinal and culinary properties. Oregano does not need too much water and it can thrive in sandy or dried-out soil environment. Oregano is used as spice in pasta, Pizza, salads, and other Italian dishes. Oregano has a distinct flavor and aroma that is good in pairing it with salads, beef, and soups. The different parts of oregano can be used in many ways. The tender leaves and stem of oregano can be added either fresh or dried towards the last minutes of cooking. It is more convenient to use oregano leaves that are dried out but there is more nutrition in fresh oregano leaves and has a more distinct aroma.
Make sure that oregano is not overcooked by heat because the delicate flavor will be destroyed. Salads taste best when oregano is added. Oregano can simply be added to onions, vegetables, spinach, squash, eggplants, and tomatoes. In salad dressing, oregano can be combined with olive oil to infuse the oil and the herb essence. A mouthwatering aroma results from adding this to pasta sauces, soups, and salad dressings.
Oregano is a healthy add on for flavoring and salad dressing. However, oregano should be avoided if on ehas an allergic reaction. One sign that it should be avoided if consuming oregano makes one have a rash developed. It is also good advice to consult a doctor if you have iron deficiency anemia. Pregnant women should never consume oregano as this performs muscle stimulation that can result to miscarriage.
